About the pub

The building was originally named “The New Inn”, the only pub name now legislated against!

Built circa 1850 the building has always been a pub; its construction granted by permission of the local parish priest, and to this day the pub carries the responsibility for the repair of the church roof.

Due to the pub’s age and prolonged periods of poor investment, we have a rolling plan of upgrades to be done as they can be afforded. To this end we lack some of the niceties of modern buildings such as baby changing facilities and proper disabled / wheelchair access. We do the best we can with the building we have and are offer help and assistance where necessary.
The Fur & Feathers is a true independent “Free House” dedicated to bringing the very best produce, as local as possible, to you for a reasonable price.

No pub company or brewery, financier or clever consultants, just a hard working family doing
their level best.
